U.S. Jobs Report Just Dropped: Why Gold and Bitcoin Are Moving This Week and How to Trade It

The biggest market event of the month just happened on Friday – the U.S. Non-Farm Payroll (NFP) Jobs Report for October 2026.

If you were watching Gold and Bitcoin on Friday afternoon, you saw massive volatility. Gold spiked over $50 and Bitcoin moved almost $2,000 in one hour. This is why we call NFP “the trader’s storm.”

As we start this new trading week on Monday, October 5th, both assets are holding their gains. Gold is trading firmly above $4,310 and Bitcoin is defending $76,700. But what does the jobs report actually mean for this week?

What Did The October Jobs Report Show?

The U.S. economy added fewer jobs than expected last month, but wage growth remained high. This puts the Federal Reserve in a difficult position.

Here is what traders at Amej Trading are reading from it:

1. Weaker Jobs = Possible Rate Cut Sooner
When jobs are weak, the Fed is more likely to cut interest rates to support the economy. A rate cut is bearish for the Dollar and bullish for Gold and Bitcoin. This is why both assets jumped on Friday.

2. High Wages = Inflation Still Sticky
Even though fewer jobs were added, workers are still earning more. This means inflation may not drop quickly. The Fed cannot cut too fast.

The result? The market is now confused but leaning bullish for Gold and Bitcoin. This confusion creates opportunity for traders who have a plan.

Key Levels To Watch This Week – October 5-10

This is the exact levels we shared in our iTrade Live Session this morning.

For Gold (XAU/USD) – Current: $4,311

  • Buy Zone: $4,280 – $4,300. If Gold pulls back to this zone and shows bullish reversal, this is the best buy area.
  • Resistance to Break: $4,335 – $4,400. This is the wall Gold hit last week. A daily close above $4,400 opens the door to $4,550 this month.
  • Stop Loss Level: Below $4,250. If Gold closes below $4,250, the bullish idea is invalid for this week.
  • Our Bias: Bullish above $4,280.

For Bitcoin (BTC/USD) – Current: $76,700

  • Buy Zone: $75,000 – $75,800. This was Friday’s low and where institutions bought.
  • Resistance to Break: $78,280 – $79,000. Bitcoin has been rejected here 3 times. A break above it confirms a new uptrend to $82,000.
  • Stop Loss Level: Below $74,500.
  • Our Bias: Neutral to Bullish. Waiting for a break of $78,280.

For US Dollar (DXY):
Dollar Index is falling after NFP. If DXY continues to fall below 103.50, expect Gold and BTC to continue rising. If DXY bounces, Gold and BTC will pull back. At Amej, we always check DXY before trading Gold.

How to Trade NFP Aftermath – The Amej Way

Most beginners make the mistake of trading DURING NFP. Professionals trade AFTER NFP.

Here is our 3-step system from iTrade Module 3:

Step 1: Don’t Chase Monday Morning
The market opened with a gap today. Don’t buy at the top. Wait for the London session (8am GMT) to settle. Let the market show you where it wants to go.

Step 2: Trade The Retest, Not The Breakout
If Gold wants to go to $4,400, it will first come back to retest $4,300 to grab liquidity (stop losses). That retest is your low-risk entry. This is how you avoid getting stop-hunted.

Step 3: Use Proper Risk Management
This week, risk only 1-2% per trade. NFP week after-effect still has high volatility. One bad trade should not blow your account. This is Capital Protection – our #1 rule at Amej Trading for 14 years.

What Should Nigerian Traders Do This Week?

For our students in Nigeria trading in WAT timezone, the best time to trade this move is 2pm – 7pm WAT when both London and New York sessions are open. That is when Gold and Bitcoin move the most.

If you are too busy to watch charts during that time, this is why we created iCopy. Our verified traders are already in these trades, managing the risk. You earn while they trade. Minimum to start is just $200.

Looking Ahead This Week

This week we also have:

  • Wednesday: FOMC Minutes
  • Thursday: U.S. CPI Inflation Data

Both will cause more volatility in Gold and Bitcoin. Stay tuned to Amej Trading blog for daily updates.

Bottom Line: NFP gave Gold and Bitcoin a bullish push, but $4,400 for Gold and $78,280 for Bitcoin are the key levels that must break to confirm the next big rally. Until then, buy dips cautiously and protect your capital.
